Identifying Allergies with Skin Prick Testing

Our process begins with a standardized allergy skin prick test, a clinically proven method used by allergists worldwide. During the test, trace amounts of common allergens—like pollen, dust mites, pet dander, mold, or insect venom—are applied to the skin. A shallow, controlled “prick” introduces the allergens just below the surface. Within 15–20 minutes, the body’s immune response indicates which substances the patient is allergic to.

This test is safe, efficient, and capable of identifying dozens of allergens in a single visit, making it an ideal first step toward long-term relief.

Personalized Immunotherapy

For patients who test positive for one or more allergens, we create a custom-compounded immunotherapy formulation. Unlike medications that only mask symptoms, allergy immunotherapy retrains the immune system to become less reactive over time.

Each treatment plan is built around:

  • The patient’s specific allergic profile (e.g., tree pollen, dust mites, mold, pet dander.)
  • The severity and combination of those allergens (some patients react to 10–20 or more.)
  • The patient’s biological sensitivities, ensuring dosing is both safe and effective.

This personalized therapy is typically administered through small, regular doses—either via injections or drops—under clinical supervision or at home depending on the treatment plan.

How Immunotherapy Works

Immunotherapy introduces tiny, controlled doses of the allergen to your body — either by injection (subcutaneous) or drops/tablets under the tongue (sublingual).
Over time, your immune system becomes desensitized, reducing its overreaction.

  • Early phase: The immune system builds tolerance through gradual exposure.

  • Maintenance phase: Regular doses keep tolerance steady, preventing symptoms. Our practice is dedicated to providing comprehensive allergy and immunology care to adults and children.

Treatment Duration and Outcomes

  • Build-up phase: 3–6 months of gradually increasing doses.

  • Maintenance phase: 3–5 years of consistent dosing.

  • Benefits may persist for years after completion, effectively modifying the course of allergic disease.
